NURSERY

Stirchley School can admit places on a part time basis 15hrs per week (all day Monday and Tuesday with Wednesday being to 12pm) into the nursery class each year.  Places are offered to children who have reached their 3rd birthday by the 31st August prior to September admission using the agreed criteria for all Birmingham Nurseries

ADMISSION TO THE NURSERY DOES NOT GIVE A CHILD THE AUTOMATIC RIGHTS TO A PLACE IN THE SCHOOL’S RECEPTION CLASS. 

RECEPTION CLASS

Reception places must be applied for via the Local Authority school admissions website Birmingham.gov.uk - please contact Admissions and Appeals on 0121-303-1888 (Option 4).  Reception class places are offered to children for September following their 4th birthday.  By law children start school at the beginning of the term after their fifth birthday.  An Open Day is arranged each November / February to enable prospective Reception / Nursery children and their parents to visit the school.  All Reception children are invited to visit the school with their parents during the preceding Summer Term.

NB: Please be aware that your child may not gain automatic entry into the school as we often have long waiting lists.

TRANSFER TO SECONDARY SCHOOL

Every year parents of Year 6 children will need to register their interest in a Secondary School place via Birmingham City Council's website.
