School Admissions 2023-2024

 ADMISSIONS

Stirchley Primary School follows Birmingham's Education Policy for admissions to Nursery and Reception classes. Please see below our School Admission Criteria for 2023-2024.

NURSERY

Stirchley Primary School offer part time provision for 3 year olds (the term after they turn 3). We offer these 15 hours across three days: 8:45am -3:00pm Monday and Tuesday, and 8:45am - 12:00pm Wednesday. Places are offered to children using the agreed criteria for all Birmingham nurseries.

ADMISSION TO THE NURSERY DOES NOT GIVE A CHILD THE AUTOMATIC RIGHTS TO A PLACE IN THE SCHOOL’S RECEPTION CLASS

RECEPTION CLASS

Reception places must be applied for via the Local Authority school admissions website Birmingham.gov.uk - please contact Admissions and Appeals on 0121-303-1888 (Option 4).  Reception class places are offered to children for September following their 4th birthday.  By law, children start school at the beginning of the term after their fifth birthday.  An Open Day is arranged each November/December to enable prospective parents and carers to visit the school.  All Reception children are invited to visit the school with their parents during the preceding Summer Term and a home visit is planned for mutually convenient time in July.
